The Pangkep State Polytechnic of Agriculture (POLIPANGKEP), a state polytechnic of higher learning, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, represented by Director Dr. IR. Darmawan and the Iloilo State College 0f Fisheries (ISCOF), represented by President Dr. Nordy D. Siason signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during a virtual ceremony on May 12.
The MOU is for the development of a spirit of friendship and mutual interest, on a reciprocal basis, of both state institutions.
The parties agreed to have: student exchanges, including field trips, on the job training, Internship program and volunteering opportunities; university faculty and researcher’s exchanges; exchange of library holdings and other library linkage; Industry – Academic Linkage; identification of methods for academic collaboration, including summer school, Educational – tourism projects, and visiting lectures; organization of joint research projects, including conferences, seminars, workshops, joint organizers of international conferences and meetings; and the exchange of information and publications, among others.
According to VP for Academics Dr. Joan Belga, from May 16 to June 3 of this year, two (2) BS Fisheries students of Main Campus, one (1) BS Agriculture student of Dingle, and one (1) BS Agriculture student of San Enrique will virtually study with POLIPANGKEP.
ISCOF will also accommodate ten (10) students from Indonesia.
The international student and faculty program is part of ISCOF System’s internationalization efforts, part of Dr. Siason’s “Caring to Bridge, Bridging to Care” thrust to university-hood.
