The Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF) System Bayanihan Initiative, through its ISCOF CARES project run by the Office of Extension Services and Community Development (OESCD) gave 25 PPE sets, 30 face shields, and 25 face masks to Barotac Nuevo’s Don Jose Sustiguer Monfort Memorial Medical Center on Apr. 7.

This donation was done in the wake of the news that a 25 year-old female working in the said hospital tested positive for COVID-19, the community’s 2nd case.

The donation is part of the second tranche of the project which targets to produce 5000 PPE sets comprised of hood, gown, apron, and shoe cover.

The gears are produced by faculty and staff members of ISCOF’s five campuses, with Main Campus at Tiwi, Barotac Nuevo as operation headquarter.

The operation is funded by cash and materials donations from leaders in the city and provincial governments of Iloilo, and from the faculty and staff of ISCOF and their family and friends.
