Western Visayas Consortium for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (WVCIEERD) elected Iloilo State College of Fisheries’ President Dr. Godelyn G. Hisole as its vice chairperson.
The election was conducted during the 1st Research and Development Executive Committee meeting of the WVCIEERD held last May 10 at Eon Centennial Plaza Hotel where Central Philippines State University’s President Dr. Aladino Moraca was elected as the new chairman of the consortium, succeeding the 8-year service of West Visayas State University’s President Dr. Luis Sorolla Jr.
Moraca and Hisole will be serving the consortium for three years.
The member-institutions had their ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement to reaffirm their commitments to WVCIEERD.
At present, WVCIEERD is composed of 21 member-institutions which are mostly government and private universities and colleges in Western Visayas.
They are the leading institutions conducting R&D activities related to industry, energy, and other emerging technologies in the region. (Based on Panay News, May 2019, with a report from the Department of Science and Technology VI/PN)
